Black Tower or Black Sphere?

Two late-game places that get the same nickname. Check what is in front of you before you travel.

Black Tower

A tall dark tower · the Ending Key · challenges of its own

The tower is where the Ending Key sits, and it keeps its own challenge list. Getting the key is tower work, not sphere work.

Black Sphere

A huge dark sphere · stacked rooms inside · late-game co-op

A giant sphere with the seven final rooms layered inside it. If the dark thing you can see is round and you have been doing late-game co-op, you are in the right place.

You are in the right place

Heard it called the black building or the black place? Players use both names for either one, so trust what you see over the name you remember.

Which Black Sphere Room Are You In?

You do not need a room number. Pick the thing you can actually see, and the page points at that room.

What is the main thing you see?

The Seven Rooms In Order

Every room waits on the one before it. A shut door means the room you were in has not registered yet, and that is the only unlock rule here.

Before You Start

Four habits cover every room in the sphere. Set them once, then take the rooms as you find them.

  • Stay in the room until it registers. The next door stays shut until it does.
  • Agree who does what before the room starts, not halfway through it.
  • Watch the room, not the instructions — something visible changes when a room is done.
  • Leave the last room's answer behind. Nothing carries over into the next room.

How much do you want shown?

Recognition stays on for every room, because that is how you work out where you are standing. The rest waits for you to ask.

One choice covers all seven rooms, and it stays set next time you visit.

Your world setting

Set it and the guidance stops assuming a different group size from yours. How each room behaves at another player count is not confirmed yet.

Communication changes here

These rooms lean on reading your team: pointing, moving on the same beat, and describing what only one of you can see. Talk about what is on screen now rather than what you remember doing.

Seven rooms, not the 45 challenges

The island challenges and the Black Sphere are separate content with separate counters. Progress in one never moves the other, so do not read this 7 as part of a 52.

Can't Reach the Black Sphere?

Getting inside is the late-game route itself. Black Tower challenges do not count toward it, so finishing them changes nothing down here.

  • Reached Black TowerStill needed
  • Ending Key and final route openStill needed

The first row marked "still needed" is the step in your way. Both rows done and still no way in? Walk the late route again from the tower.

Room by Room

Each room reads the same way: is this yours, what it wants, how the team splits it, then as much hint as you asked for.

The 7 / 7 counter is kept on your device, not read from your game save.

One choice covers all seven rooms, and it stays set next time you visit. Room order and recognition clues last checked on 30 September 2026.

Peg board · Room 1

CURRENT

Peg Board Room

Is this your room?

  • Peg board / symbol board
  • A board state to copy or finish

What this room wants

Finish the board the room starts you on. This is the room the sequence always opens first.

How the team splits it

Decide who reads the board and who acts on it. Only one player needs the whole picture.

How you know it worked

The board finishes and the next doorway becomes available.

Why the next room will not open

  • The next room is still closed: the last board change never registered.
  • The board was completed in a different order from the one the group agreed, so the final change was left half done.

Room 1 done and the next door still shut? → Check Room 1

Pointers · Room 2

LOCKED

Pointer Room

Is this your room?

  • Pointers / directions
  • A reading the team has to interpret

What this room wants

Read the pointers and get what they say to the players who can act on it.

How the team splits it

Agree the reading order before anything moves. The pointers say what to do, not where to stand.

How you know it worked

The room registers the read and the next doorway becomes available.

Why the next room will not open

  • The next room is still closed: the room never registered the final instruction.
  • Two players acted on different readings of the same pointer, so nothing matched.

Room 2 done and the next door still shut? → Check Room 2

Kick course · Room 3

LOCKED

Kick Course Room

Is this your room?

  • Objects you can kick
  • A course the team moves through

What this room wants

Get the whole team through the kick course that fills the room.

How the team splits it

Pick the order the group moves in before the first kick. A run only counts if everyone finishes it.

How you know it worked

The course registers as cleared and the next doorway becomes available.

Why the next room will not open

  • The next room is still closed: the last section of the course was never crossed.
  • A player left the course mid-run, so the run did not count.

A similar challenge on the island

Room 3 done and the next door still shut? → Check Room 3

Shared press · Room 4

LOCKED

Shared Press Room

Is this your room?

  • Buttons
  • Inputs the team has to hold together

What this room wants

Get every required input active at the same moment.

How the team splits it

Everyone who can reach an input takes one. One player counts the group in, and nobody starts early.

How you know it worked

The inputs register together and the next doorway becomes available.

Why the next room will not open

  • The next room is still closed: one input was released before the room finished.
  • Everyone pressed, but not on the same beat, so the room never saw the inputs as active together.
  • A player stepped off the input as it registered and cancelled the press.

A similar challenge on the island

Room 4 done and the next door still shut? → Check Room 4

Volley hallway · Room 5

LOCKED

Volley Hallway

Is this your room?

  • A volley across a long hallway
  • Something you send from one end to the other

What this room wants

Send the object the full length of the hallway without losing it.

How the team splits it

Put someone at the far end before the first attempt. The return trip is part of the same run.

How you know it worked

Do not treat this room as done just because you reached the far end. Wait until the next doorway is actually available.

Why the next room will not open

  • The next room is still closed: the object stopped short and the hallway never registered.
  • The far end was reached, the room was marked done, and the hallway had not finished.

Room 5 done and the next door still shut? → Check Room 5

Invisible room · Room 6

LOCKED

Invisible Room

Is this your room?

  • A stretch you cannot read directly
  • Invisible or hidden pieces

What this room wants

Work through the part of the room that is not visible to everyone at once.

How the team splits it

Split the work: one player keeps the route, the others describe what changes when something invisible is touched.

How you know it worked

The hidden stretch registers and the last room becomes available.

Two things use this name

Invisible final room or Invisible Ink?

Two different things use the invisible name. Inside the Black Sphere it is this room, the sixth of the seven. On an island tile challenge, invisible ink is the normal challenge.

Open Invisible Ink

Why the next room will not open

  • The last room is still closed: the hidden stretch was left before it registered.
  • A step was repeated from memory instead of from what the room showed.

Room 6 done and the next door still shut? → Check Room 6

Sculpture · Room 7

LOCKED

Sculpture Room

Is this your room?

  • A sculpture or statue
  • The last room before the exit

What this room wants

Finish the sculpture. This is the last tracked room before the Ending Gate.

How the team splits it

Agree the arrangement before anyone moves a piece. Rebuilding it is slower than agreeing once.

How you know it worked

The Black Sphere registers 7 / 7 and the route continues toward the Ending Gate.

Why the next room will not open

  • This room finished but the Ending Gate is still closed: the gate has its own conditions, so this is not a Room 7 problem.
  • The final arrangement was left incomplete, so the sphere never registered the seventh room.

Why Won't the Next Room Open?

Pick what is happening to you. Mid-sequence, the checks below are the room you are standing in right now.

What is happening?

Room you are in: Room 1 — Peg Board Room

Most likely blocker

The room you are in has not registered its completion yet, so the door after it is still shut.

What to check

  • The next room is still closed: the last board change never registered.
  • The board was completed in a different order from the one the group agreed, so the final change was left half done.

Next step

Go back into the room you just left, repeat its final step the whole way through, and watch the room rather than the door.

Black Sphere Complete

Seven rooms is the end of the sphere. It is not the end of the game, and it is not the ending itself.

0 / 7 Black Sphere rooms cleared

The Ending Gate keeps its own conditions. Clearing every room here does not open it on its own.

Black Sphere Questions

Where is the Black Sphere?
On the late-game route, past Black Tower and before the Ending Gate. It is a sphere you walk into, not a landmark you look at from the outside. Black Tower guide
Is the Black Sphere the same as Black Tower?
No. They are two separate late-game places, and the tower comes first. The tower is where the Ending Key sits; the sphere is the seven-room stretch after it.
How many Black Sphere puzzles are there?
Seven, and they run in a fixed order rather than as a set you can pick from. Seven is the number the sphere counts, separate from the 45 island challenges.
Which Black Sphere room am I in?
Match the room by what you can see, not by a number the game never shows you. Find my room
Why won't the next room open?
The room before it has not registered yet. Go back into the room you just left, finish the last part of it in one pass, and look for a visible change before you try the door again. Check the room you are in
Does player count change the final rooms?
Not confirmed yet — feedback welcome. Rounds exist for different world settings, so if a room looks nothing like what the guide describes, check the setting your run was created with first.
What happens after the seventh room?
The route continues to the Ending Gate, which has its own conditions. The ending itself is a separate guide. Ending Guide
