The button on the yellow crane is built to sit out of reach. Stack your teammates underneath it and let the player at the top press it — the world setting decides how high the stack has to go.
📍 Opening Route🧩 Player Stack Puzzle👥 2-player / 3-player / 4+ world variants🏆 Gourd🔄 Changes by world setting
Seeing more than one switch? High Button is a single button above your reach, and nothing on it is pressed at the same time.
Which world are you playing?
Choose the world setting the host picked — not how many players happen to be in the lobby right now.
One player is the base and the other is the reach. The upper player does the pressing.
Before pressing
Hints
Small hint
You don't need another object. You need more height.
Strong hint
Use your teammates as the missing height. Build a stack directly under the button.
Step-by-step
Step 1
The base player stands directly under the button and stops walking.
Step 2
The upper player climbs onto the base player. Lifting or carrying the upper player works too.
Step 3
The upper player turns to face the button and presses it.
Step 4
Both players hold still until the crane releases the reward.
How the Puzzle Decides You Succeeded
The puzzle checks whether every required state for your world version is active at the same time. If one required state drops before the completion trigger fires, the team has to try again.
Nobody in reach
The button sits well above a player standing on the ground.
↓
Stack built
The base player holds position underneath while the upper player climbs on.
↓
Button pressed
The player at the top interacts with the button. Throwing something at it never counts.
↓
Reward released
The crane releases the reward and the challenge registers.
Success
✓ The button registers the press
✓ The crane releases the reward
✓ The challenge registers as complete
Where To Find High Button
High Button is on the opening route, on the yellow crane near the start of the island. It is one of the first challenges you meet on the way to the Drawbridge.
High Button and the Sim Press challenges are both button puzzles, and players mix them up constantly. High Button is one button high on a crane, reached by stacking players underneath it. Easy Sim Press is the opposite problem: several switches spread around an area that all have to be active in the same moment. If the puzzle in front of you has more than one switch, or every switch is already at ground level, you are on a Sim Press challenge.
You build a player stack. Stand your group directly underneath the button, climb or lift until someone is level with it, and press it from the top. There is no second switch and no ramp that gets you there.
Can you throw something at the button?
No. The button only reacts to a player using it, so an object thrown from the ground does nothing. The missing step is height, not a projectile.
Why does the High Button look different in another player's game?
High Button is built separately for the 2-player, 3-player, and 4+ worlds, and the button sits at a different height in each one. Check the world setting the host picked, then read the version of this guide that matches it.
How many players does High Button need?
At least two, even in the smallest world: one player holds the base and one player reaches up to the button. Bigger world settings put the button higher, so the stack gets taller with them.
Can you do High Button solo?
No. High Button has no solo setup, because the button is deliberately placed out of reach from the ground and the press has to come from a teammate.
Do extra players have to join the stack?
Not necessarily. Once the stack reaches the button, spare players are more useful steadying it and calling the alignment than climbing on top. Your group size and the host's world setting are two different things.
