Finding a Puzzle You Cannot Name
Start with what you can see
The puzzle name is the hardest thing to remember, so the finder never asks for it. Describe the objects in front of you instead — every detail you add removes candidates, and a question only appears while two challenges are still tied.
What makes a good clue
Objects, numbers, sounds, who can see what, and what happens when it fails are what separates one challenge from another. A colour on its own narrows almost nothing, but "red lens and blank tiles" points straight at one board.
When nothing matches
Drop the room and keep the one thing that stood out. If a landmark is easier to remember than a mechanism, open the map and pick the marker you walked past — then describe what the challenge asked you to do.
Big Walk Puzzle Finder FAQ
- How do I identify a puzzle if I don't know its name?
- Describe what you see, what your team is doing, or what is not working. The finder narrows the 45 normal challenges and opens the matching solution for your world setting. Start the finder →
- Do Big Walk puzzles change with the world setting?
- Some do. In High Button, for example, the 2-player, 3-player and 4+ worlds put the button at different heights, so the finder only asks about your world setting when the remaining matches actually differ. World settings →
- Can I find a puzzle by its location?
- Yes, but only when it helps. Choose an area if you know it, or open the map and pick the nearest challenge marker. Find by area →
- What if two puzzles look almost the same?
- The finder asks a question that separates them, and lists the other possibilities with the reason to choose each one. You can also mark a match as “Not this puzzle” to skip it. Finder →
- Does the finder cover the post-game Purple Challenges?
- It recognises Purple and Final Gauntlet wording and routes you to the right hub instead of a normal challenge. Identification itself covers the 45 normal challenges. Purple Challenges →
