How Do You Play Big Walk With Friends?
There is no random online matchmaking. One player hosts. That host keeps the save.
Option A — Platform Friends
- 1
Host starts Big Walk.
- 2
Host loads into the world.
- 3
Open available friend games.
- 4
Join the Host.
Option B — Join Code
- 1
Host starts a session.
- 2
Find the Join Code in the Host menu / Session Details.
- 3
Share the code.
- 4
Other players enter the code and join.
- The Join Code is unique to each hosted session. Before start, it sits on the host menu. After start, it is in Session Details.
- Mac App Store players should use the Join Code. That storefront has no Game Center friends list.
- A session password is recommended.

Who Should Host Big Walk?
Choose your host carefully.
The host owns the save and progression. To continue the same journey later, the same host needs to host again.
If the host ends the session, everyone is disconnected.
Can You Play Big Walk Solo?
Not as a complete playthrough.
You can start a session alone and explore a little, but Big Walk is designed around cooperative challenges and communication. Some challenge implementations depend on more than one player.

Versions don't match
Big Walk version numbers have three parts, e.g. 1.4.8. Only the first two numbers need to match for multiplayer compatibility; the third can differ.
Can't host or join any game?
This can indicate a connection problem with Epic Online Services.
Check
- • System clock is correct
- • Internet is available
- • Restart the game or device
PC / Mac extra checks
If those still fail, the official FAQ covers Epic Online Services connection checks for PC and Mac, including whether the device can reach api.epicgames.dev.
We're in the same game but a puzzle looks different
Some objects and challenge layouts change based on the host's 2 / 3 / 4+ world setting.
