Big Walk Lost & Found

Big Walk Lost & Found: Where Missing Items Go

If the host ended your game while you were holding or wearing an item, check Lost & Found when the next session starts.

For where each carried item normally comes from, see the Items & Tools overview.

Quick Answer

One sentence from inside the game covers the whole rule.

The rule
When the host ends your game, anything you’re holding or wearing will be placed here at the start of your next session.
When to look
The start of your next session with the same host — not after a timer.
Where to look
Lost & Found in the Spawn Hub, the courtyard you start from.

If the item was already lying somewhere in the world, do not assume Lost & Found has it. An item nobody was holding or wearing falls back on its own source or guide.

Find My Missing Item

Three answers separate the documented recovery from the cases that belong to an item, a route or a connection.

What went missing?

What happened?

Were you holding or wearing it?

Answer the three questions above to see where your case belongs.

Where Is Lost & Found?

It is in the hub you start from, so you pass it on the way in rather than travelling to reach it.

Area
Spawn Hub
What it is
A recovery point for items you were holding or wearing
When it helps
After a host-ended session, at the start of your next one

There is no unlock step and nothing to pay. Walk up and take back what was kept for you.

Show It on the Map

What Is Confirmed to Go There?

The in-game rule names two states, not a list of items. Anything you were carrying in one of those two ways is covered.

  • Held

The item was in your hands when the host ended the game.

  • Worn

The item was equipped on your body when the host ended the game.

Common examples

Things players most often have on them when a session stops:

  • A Backpack you were wearing
  • Worn gear such as a Holster
  • A tool or prop in your hands
  • Something you were carrying for a puzzle

Those are examples rather than a compatibility list, and an item counts because of how you were holding it, not because of what it is.

The Host Ended the Session

This is the one route the game documents, so work through it in order.

  1. 1. Were you holding or wearing the item?

Then it was kept for you and is waiting at Lost & Found.

  2. 2. Was it lying loose in the world?

Then recovery is up to the item, and its own guide is the next stop.

You do not wait out a countdown. The documented moment is the start of your next session, so reopen the game with the same host and look straight away.

I Disconnected Instead

“You lost connection to the host unexpectedly” is its own message, and it is not the same event as the host ending the game.

The host session is still running

Get back into that session. Your hands, your worn gear and wherever you were standing are the three things worth checking.

The host session ended afterwards

Once that host starts the journey again, the recovery rule applies and Lost & Found is worth a look at the start of the session.

You still cannot get in

That is a connection fault rather than a lost item, and the multiplayer troubleshooter covers what the game reports.

I Dropped the Item Before the Session Ended

Items on the ground are a different case from items on you.

The rule above only names what you were holding or wearing, so a dropped item is not something Lost & Found promises to return.

What to try instead

  1. 1Go back to the spot where you left it.
  2. 2If it has gone from there, open the item’s guide for where it normally comes from.
  3. 3Rejoin with the same host so you are looking at the journey you actually played.
  4. 4If the host ended the session after you dropped it, check Lost & Found too.

Players often see loose world items back at their normal spot after reloading. That is worth trying, but it behaves item by item rather than as one rule for everything.

Missing Backpack

A Backpack can go missing for two completely different reasons, so pick the one that matches you.

You were wearing it when the session ended

That is the documented case. The Backpack is waiting at Lost & Found at the start of the next session, along with whatever it was holding.

You never had one, or you left it in the world

Then this is a sourcing question. Backpacks come from set places, and the Backpack guide lists them.

Missing Big Key

A Big Key is progression, not carried gear, so it does not belong in the recovery model above.

What looks like a missing key is usually unfinished route state: a key waiting at its cutters, a key already delivered, or a different destination than the one you are standing at.

Open the Big Key route checker

My Item Is Not in Lost & Found

Work down this list in order. It covers nearly every case where the item should have been there.

  1. 1. Had the session actually ended?

While the host is still running the game, nothing has been handed over yet, so there is nothing to collect.

  2. 2. Were you holding or wearing it?

If it was on the ground or inside a container you left behind, the rule does not name it.

  3. 3. Are you on the same host’s journey?

A different host is running a different save, so their hub will not hold your item.

  4. 4. Is it still on you?

Check your hands, your worn gear and any bag you are carrying before deciding it is missing.

  5. 5. Is it a puzzle or progression object?

Tiles, rewards and Big Keys answer to their own systems rather than to this recovery point.

  6. 6. Did you lose connection instead?

A dropped connection is its own problem with its own fix.

Are You on the Same Host’s Journey?

Progress belongs to the host who saved it, so the wrong session can look like a missing item.

If somebody else hosts, or the original host starts a fresh journey, you are standing in a different save. Your item is not gone; you are looking in the wrong one.

Lost & Found FAQ

Where is Lost & Found in Big Walk?

In the Spawn Hub, the courtyard you start from. It is a recovery point inside the hub, not a puzzle area or a separate region.

Spawn Hub position →
When do items go to Lost & Found?

When the host ends the game. Anything you were holding or wearing at that moment is placed there for the start of your next session.

The confirmed route →
What happens to items when the host ends the game?

Items in your hands or on your body are kept for you. They appear at Lost & Found when the next session starts rather than vanishing with the session.

What goes there →
Does a Backpack go to Lost & Found?

If you were wearing it when the host ended the game, yes. If you never picked one up, the Backpack guide lists where they appear.

Missing Backpack →
What if I disconnected instead of the host ending the session?

Reconnect to the same session first. A dropped connection is a separate problem, and the recovery rule names a host-ended game, not a lost connection.

Disconnection route →
Why is my item not at Lost & Found?

Check the four usual reasons in order: the session may still be running, the item may not have been held or worn, you may be on a different host’s save, or it may belong to a puzzle or progression owner instead.

Still missing →
Do dropped items go to Lost & Found?

Not by the rule above, which only covers what you were holding or wearing. Items left loose in the world are a different case and behave item by item.

Dropped items →
Can Lost & Found recover a Big Key?

No. A Big Key is progression state tied to its route, so check what the key had already done rather than looking for it as lost gear.

Missing Big Key →
When do recovered items appear?

At the start of your next session. There is no countdown to wait out, so reopen the game with the same host and look as soon as you are in the hub.
