Big Walk Big Climb: How to Reach the Highest Point

Big Climb is tied to one authored summit location on the map. Get to the peak marker and step into the zone around it — that is the whole achievement, whether you rode the Chairlift up or walked the whole way.

Reach the highest point of the map and enter the summit zone. Riding the Chairlift only satisfies Big Sit — the climb needs you to arrive at the peak itself.

The Chairlift is the easiest way up. It is not the achievement.

Quick Answer

Big Climb unlocks the moment you reach the authored summit and enter the zone around the peak marker. The Chairlift is the easiest normal route toward that mountain, but riding it on its own only earns Big Sit. Get off near the peak and keep going upward until you are standing inside the summit area.

You do not have to stand on one exact rock — you have to get into the summit zone.

This is one of the gameplay achievements. See the full achievements list

Where Is the Highest Point?

The map already carries the summit pin, so you do not have to guess a coordinate.

Open the map on the highest-point marker and use it as your target. The pin sits on the summit area itself, which is the same place the achievement is checking. Once you are close, switch back to the game and walk the last stretch on foot.

Show the Highest Point on the Map

The map opens with the summit pin selected. The page URL stays /map.

Where Are You Stuck?

Pick the line that matches your run. The Chairlift route and the summit trigger fail for different reasons.

I haven’t unlocked the Chairlift yet

Then the recommended route is not available to you yet, and the summit is still reachable on foot. The achievement itself does not check for the Chairlift at all.

Big Climb vs Big Sit

Both involve the Chairlift, and they are still two different achievements with two different triggers.

A single Chairlift trip can hand you Big Sit and leave Big Climb untouched, because the second one is not attached to the lift at all.

The Easiest Way Up

Two routes are published for the summit. The Chairlift is the convenient one, not the required one.

Recommended

Chairlift route

With the Chairlift running, ride it toward the central mountain, get off near the peak, and follow the final climb on foot. The lift closes most of the distance, so this is the shortest normal trip to the summit.

Open Chairlift Guide

Possible, less convenient

Climb on foot

You can also climb the mountain on foot without using the Chairlift. It takes longer and asks more of the route, but nothing in the achievement checks how you got there.

Show the Highest Point on the Map

Whichever route you take, the achievement fires from the summit itself.

Can I reach it without the Chairlift?

Yes. The recovered condition is a single summit entry, and it contains no Chairlift field, so the lift is a shortcut rather than a gate.

What Actually Triggers Big Climb?

Big Climb is attached to one authored summit location, not to the Chairlift and not to a height value.

The achievement logic sits on a zone placed at the peak marker on the mountain. It fires when you enter that zone. That is why the achievement can be earned on foot as well as by lift: the check is about arriving at the summit, not about how you travelled there.

Is Big Climb based on height?

Not according to the recovered trigger. There is no height threshold in it — the game checks whether you entered one specific summit zone. So a different rock that merely looks very high is not the same thing, and that is the usual reason a player feels they climbed high enough without the achievement firing.

What Does the Summit Look Like?

The location is confirmed; the exact prop sitting on it is described less consistently by players.

What the game data confirms

The summit is a real authored landmark with its own marker object, and the achievement zone hangs from it. It is not an empty coordinate in the middle of the mountain.

What players describe

Player routes describe a small summit area with an obvious marker or structure and radio-related props nearby. Treat that description as a helpful visual cue rather than a rule — the thing the achievement checks is the zone, not a specific prop.

At the Top but Big Climb Didn’t Pop

Work down the list. The first line that is still true is the one to fix.

1. Are you at the actual summit?

Being high up and being at the peak marker are different things. Open the map pin and compare it with where you are standing before you try anything else.

Open the Peak on the Map

2. Walk through the summit area

The trigger is a zone, so its edge can be thinner than it looks. Rather than stopping where the ground stops rising, keep moving across the top of the summit so you pass through the middle of it.

3. Don’t wait on the Chairlift

The lift trigger belongs to Big Sit. If you are still on the line, you have not reached the summit yet, however high the ride has taken you.

Open Big Sit Guide

4. Try approaching from a different side

If one approach did not register, walk the summit from another direction. Nothing published says a single approach angle is required.

5. Platform achievement delayed?

The in-game medal and the Steam or PS5 notification can update at different moments. Check your platform achievement list before you redo the whole climb.

What Is Not Proven to Be Required

These come up often, but none of them is stated as a requirement in the recovered trigger.

  • Big Sit first

The two achievements are independent. Reaching the summit is what matters, whether or not you have ridden the Chairlift.

  • A full Chairlift trip

You do not have to ride the lift to its far end. Leaving it near the mountain and climbing the rest is normal.

  • Completing the Green route

Green progression is the normal way to unlock the Chairlift, which gives you the easiest route. The achievement condition itself does not check for it.

  • A fixed altitude

There is no height number to clear. The summit is a specific place rather than a line on a vertical scale.

  • Standing on one exact point

You do not have to balance on a single rock. Reaching the summit area is enough.

  • Touching one specific structure

Players often use the summit structure as a visual landmark, but the verified condition is the surrounding zone rather than a collision with one prop.

  • A minimum time at the top

No waiting period is published. Arriving in the zone is the trigger.

  • An exact coordinate

No precise summit coordinate is published. Use the map pin instead of a number copied from somewhere else.

Big Climb FAQ

Where is the highest point in Big Walk?

At the summit marker on the map. Open the peak pin from this page and use it as your target, because the game checks that specific summit zone rather than any general height. Show it on the map

How do you unlock Big Climb?

Reach the highest point of the map and enter the summit zone. The Peak medal is awarded on arrival, so there is nothing extra to do once you are there.

Do I need the Chairlift for Big Climb?

No. The Chairlift is the easiest normal route toward the peak, but the recovered achievement condition contains no Chairlift check. Climbing on foot also reaches the summit. Chairlift Guide

Does riding the Chairlift unlock Big Climb?

No. Riding a ChairLift car belongs to Big Sit. Big Climb only fires at the summit, so you have to leave the lift and finish the climb. Big Sit

Is Big Sit required first?

No. The two achievements have separate triggers, and the summit condition does not depend on the Chairlift one.

Where should I get off the Chairlift?

Near the mountain, then continue upward on foot. No single terminus is published as the correct stop, so use the summit pin on the map to judge when to start walking.

Is the highest point a specific marker?

Yes. The summit is an authored landmark with its own marker object, and the achievement zone sits at it. That is why the map pin can point you at it directly.

Is Big Climb based on altitude?

No. The recovered trigger is one specific summit zone rather than a height threshold, so another very high spot on the map will not necessarily count.

Do I need to touch the orange summit structure?

No such collision is verified. Players use the summit structure as a visual landmark, but the condition that awards the medal is the zone around it.

Why didn’t Big Climb unlock when I reached the top?

Check you are at the summit marker rather than a high ledge below it, then walk across the top of the summit so you pass through the zone instead of stopping at its edge.

Can I climb to the highest point on foot?

Yes. The Chairlift shortens the trip, but it is not part of the achievement condition, so a full climb on foot works.

Is there an exact coordinate for the highest point?

No precise coordinate is published. Use the verified map pin instead of a number copied from another guide. Open the map

Does Big Climb need the Green route finished?

Green progression is the normal way to unlock the Chairlift, which gives you the easiest route to the peak. The achievement condition itself does not check for Green completion. Green Area Walkthrough
